On the night of January 24, Russian troops launched a massive attack on the capital of Ukraine. The consequences of the shelling are reported by the Kyiv City State Administration.
As of 9:00, as a result of damage to critical infrastructure in Kyiv, almost 6,000 residential buildings were left without heating. Most of them are houses that have already tried to connect to the heat supply twice after the shelling on January 9 and 20. Problems with water supply have also been recorded on the left bank and partially on the right bank of the capital.
“Due to the massive night attack and electricity shortage in the city, disruptions in the operation of life support systems have been recorded,” the Kyiv City State Administration noted.
As a result of the shelling, the operation of the Kyiv metro has been changed. On the “red” line, trains run between the Akademmistechko stations and "Arsenalna" with an interval of 7–9 minutes, as well as between "Darnytsia", "Livoberezhnaya" and "Arsenalna" with an interval of about 12 minutes. The stations "Lisova", "Chernigivska", "Hydropark" and "Dnipro" are temporarily closed.
On the "green" line, train traffic is organized between the stations "Syrets" — "Vydubychi" and "Osokorky" — "Chervony Khutir". During the inspection of the open area, damage to the fence was discovered.
Currently, one person is known to have died and four others have been injured. Three injured people have been hospitalized. Emergency and municipal services continue to deal with the consequences of the attack.
