From October 4, a new algorithm for paying for travel with bank cards in public transport will come into force in Kyiv. Now money will be debited from the card not for each trip, but for every two trips together.
The changes will affect payment for travel using contactless bank cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay, as well as a digital transport card if there were no purchased trips on it, and the money for travel was debited from the bank card.
After the first validation, no money will be debited from the card. The debit will occur after the second trip, when the passenger touches the card to the validator again. If the passenger does not complete the second trip before evening, the first trip will be charged after 21:00.
The new fare payment algorithm was successfully tested on high-speed tram routes and will now be introduced to all public transport in Kyiv.
Payment for travel using QR tickets and travel on transport cards will remain unchanged.
The fare for public transport in Kyiv has not changed since the beginning of the war and is 8 hryvnia.
