Yesterday, December 1, a fatal accident occurred in Kyiv, the culprit of which was the driver of a Toyota Land Cruiser. It turned out to be a foreigner who was driving a car while intoxicated.
The accident occurred around 19:11 in Pechersk. The Toyota driver, moving along Staronavodnitskaya Street, drove into the oncoming lane, where he collided with a Renault Megane car, which was moving within its lane.
As a result of the collision, the driver and passenger of the Renault car (a married couple) died on the spot from their injuries.
The Toyota driver was detained. He turned out to be a citizen of another state, born in 1979. In particular, Drager recorded 1.21 ppm of alcohol in the detainee.
The driver was informed of suspicion under Part 4 of Art. 286-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He faces a penalty of imprisonment for up to 10 years.
Currently, the driver has been served with a petition to select a preventive measure in the form of detention.
