There will be no parties. Klitschko made a statement about the main Christmas tree of Ukraine

The main New Year tree of Ukraine will be installed until December 6 on Sophia Square in Kyiv. At the same time, mass loud celebrations are not expected.

RBC-Ukraine (Styler project) writes about this with reference to the post of the mayor of the capital Vitaliy Klitschko in his Telegram channel.

What is known about the main Christmas tree of the country

This year the city will not spend money on installing a forest beauty. Like last year, the tree will be installed and decorated at the expense of patrons. And in compliance with the regime of limiting the use of electricity.

This year there will be no public events, fairs or entertainment on Sophia Square.

“If the city district administration plans any festive events in the districts, then only in compliance with safety rules, in places where there is shelter. And also not at the expense of the Kiev budget,” the mayor assured.

The Christmas tree will begin to be installed earlier, before December 6, because we celebrate Christmas on December 25. According to Klitschko, it will be removed by January 10.

Let us note that the decision on the absence of fairs and celebrations was made by the Kyiv Defense Council.

The opening of the Christmas tree is scheduled for December 6, 2023 - the feast of St. Nicholas. The Kiev city military administration noted that the tree will stand until January 20.

Last year, the Christmas tree was lit up on St. Nicholas Square on December 19, St. Nicholas Day. It was decorated with doves, and on the top was a trident. The Christmas tree was illuminated with energy-saving blue and yellow garlands, which were powered by a generator.
