Last week, more than 4.8 million passengers used the capital's metro, of which about 1.3 million were beneficiaries. This was reported by the Kyiv Metro Enterprise.
During this period, specialists also organized 211 escorts of passengers from among the low-mobility groups through the metro infrastructure. Recall that to order an escort, you must call (044) 238-55-11 or 050-448-91-71 and inform the route of the trip in the metro. We recommend calling an hour before the planned trip so that a metro employee can wait near the starting station.
The enterprise is undergoing scheduled infrastructure maintenance work. During this period, 33 wooden sleepers, one switch beam and 25 m of rail thread were replaced. Also at the final stage is a major overhaul of the escalator at the Khreschatyk station, the exit to the Alley of Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred.
The Kyiv Metro also reports that a planned major overhaul of the escalators at the Palace of Ukraine station will begin tomorrow, which will last until the end of this year. As part of these works, diagnostics and replacement of important escalator equipment will be carried out.
Escalators stop due to passengers' failure to comply with the rules for using the metro. Thus, 112 escalator stops occurred last week for various reasons. In particular, 10 times passengers stopped the escalator with the "stop" handle unnecessarily, 65 - to avoid injury, 33 - due to personal belongings falling. The municipal enterprise urges to be careful and follow the rules of conduct.
