The southern bridge in Kyiv will be partially closed for the weekend: drivers are asked to take into account repairs

At 14:00 on August 14, a partial traffic restriction will begin on the Southern Bridge, which will last until 19:00 on August 17. During this period, road specialists will repair the asphalt concrete pavement on the right-bank overpass.

The repair will be carried out on the section of the Southern Bridge in the direction of movement from the left bank to the right. To carry out the work, traffic will be temporarily restricted in the extreme right and partially second lanes.

When and where will the restrictions apply

Temporary changes will be introduced:

• start: 14:00 August 14;
• end: 19:00 August 17;
• location: Pivdennyi most;
• direction: from the left bank to the right;
• work area: right-bank overpass;
• restricted lanes: the far right and partially the second;
• reason: asphalt concrete pavement repair.

The utility company notes that the restrictions are necessary for safe road works. Due to the narrowing of the carriageway on the bridge, the road capacity may decrease, especially during hours of increased traffic load.

“We ask drivers to take into account temporary restrictions when planning routes and, if possible, choose alternative routes in advance. We apologize for the temporary inconvenience,” the Kyivavtoshlyakhmist municipal enterprise reported.

Drivers are advised to take into account possible traffic jams

Due to the works, some lanes will be inaccessible to traffic, so drivers planning to travel from the left bank to the right via the Southern Bridge are recommended to plan additional travel time in advance.

During the repair period, it is worth checking the road situation before leaving and using alternative routes if possible. This is especially important during peak hours, when even a partial narrowing of the carriageway can slow down traffic.

After the work is completed and the road surface is restored, traffic on the bridge should be carried out without the specified temporary restrictions.

The traffic organization scheme for the repair period was published together with the announcement on the official portal of the Kyiv City State Administration.
