The Russian attack damaged the children's infectious disease department in Kyiv: children and doctors were not injured

On the night of August 11, as a result of an enemy attack, the building of the children's infectious disease department of one of the capital's health care institutions was damaged. Despite the damage, there were no children or medical workers injured.

As reported in the Department of Health KMDA, during the attack, all the children who were in the department, as well as the medical staff, were in shelter. This made it possible to avoid injuries among patients and employees of the medical institution.

Specialists are currently assessing the extent of damage to the building and determining the amount of necessary restoration work. At the same time, medical services are taking measures to ensure continuous provision of medical care to patients.

The Department of Health emphasizes that the first priority remains the safety of children and medical personnel, as well as maintaining the ability to provide the necessary care even after the damage to the building.

This is not the first case of damage to Kyiv's medical infrastructure as a result of Russian attacks. Earlier, in particular, after massive shelling on the night of June 2, five medical facilities were damaged in the capital. At that time, patients and medical workers were also in shelters. 

The city authorities continue to assess the consequences of the overnight attack and will report on further decisions regarding the operation of the damaged medical facility.
