On the afternoon of January 27, the capital is forecast to experience worsening weather conditions. According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, ice is expected in Kyiv, and on the roads - slush. The 1st level of danger (yellow) has been declared.
Forecasters predict cloudy weather with light wet snow and rain. Southeast wind, 7–12 m/s. The air temperature at night and during the day will be 1–3° below zero.
“On January 27, ice and slush may form on the roads in the capital, which may complicate the movement of vehicles and pedestrians,” the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center reported.
The city authorities are calling on Kyiv residents to follow safety rules. Drivers are advised to reduce speed, keep a distance, avoid sharp maneuvers and not use cars with summer tires. Pedestrians are recommended to move slowly, not keep their hands in their pockets and be especially careful near the roadway.
The Kyiv City State Administration also reminds that during bad weather, it is advisable not to use your own transport unless absolutely necessary, preferring public transport. This will help avoid traffic jams and ensure the efficient operation of municipal services.
It is also noted that responsibility for cleaning up territories lies not only with city services, but also with enterprises of all forms of ownership. Inspectors monitor compliance with the rules of landscaping, and fines are provided for violations.
