On the night of January 20, the Ukrainian capital was subjected to another enemy attack. According to city authorities, the aftermath was primarily reported in the Dniprovskyi district of Kyiv.
"The strikes damaged non-residential premises at several addresses, shattered windows in residential buildings, and damaged an elementary school building. There were no fires at the school," the Kyiv City State Administration reported.
Cars also caught fire in open areas due to debris from an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). Emergency services continue to work at the scene.
As of this morning, one victim in the Dniprovskyi district was hospitalized and is undergoing inpatient treatment at one of Kyiv's hospitals.
As a result of the attack, 5,635 multi-story buildings were left without heat. Almost 80% of these are buildings where heating was restored after infrastructure damage on January 9. In addition, water supply is temporarily out on the left bank of the capital, power outages are occurring, and social infrastructure facilities have been switched to independent power supplies.
Due to the challenging energy situation, Kyiv metro service is being adjusted. Utility and power companies are working to restore heat, water, and electricity to Kyiv residents' homes.
